Austrian National Library: Image Editing for the Yoichi Okamoto Photo Exhibition Catalogue

Military photographer, personal photographer of the Commander-in-Chief of the American Armed Forces in Austria, head of the photo department of the United States Information Service in Austria and later on, official presidential photographer in the White House.

Yoichi Okamoto’s life was eventful and his photographic work remarkable, both on an aesthetic as well as on a social and political level. The exhibition in the State Hall of the Austrian National Library “Bild macht Politik” or “Image Power Politics” bears witness to this photographer’s incredible life and talent. Of course, such a special exhibition requires an equally special, top-quality catalogue.

For this project, we were in charge of editing all the photos which had been selected to be published in the catalogue. The black-and-white photographs were gathered from many different sources, varied in colour tone and quality. Our task consisted in giving a consistent visual appearance to all the pictures gathered from many different sources.

The result is a beautiful exhibition catalogue, appealing in both its content and visual appearance — a true gem for history or photography enthusiasts, of which we can be proud.
